Water filtration has never been more critical than it is in our society today. Using toxic herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers in traditional agricultural settings allows these chemicals to seep into the soil through moisture and rain.
These chemicals then get into our groundwater, lakes, streams, and underground tributaries that fill our wells. The improper disposal of medicines and CFL light bulbs in our public dumps also introduces narcotics and mercury into our water systems. This makes water filtration necessary to filter out sediment and these dangerous and sometimes toxic chemicals.
J&J Pumps, Inc offers a variety of water filtration systems to fit your needs. Give us a call, and we can suggest the water filtration that best fits your application, and we ship nationwide. Some of the water filtration systems we offer are below.
Are you getting sand in your home? Then chances are it's eating up the impellers in your pump, plugging showerheads, filling your pressure tank, and driving you crazy. If that's the case, then the Lakos Sand Separator is just what you need.
The Lakos Sand Separator is a submersible filter that surrounds your pump and motor, using centrifugal force to form a vortex that forces sand down and allows your pump to draw water from the clean vortex created by the Lakos equipment.
With Lakos Sand Separators, separating sand from wells has never been easier. Newly designed in 2006 with even greater efficiencies and LONGER pump protection, it extends the life of submersible pumps up to five times in sandy wells!
Designed primarily for Submersible pumps.
NOTE: the SUB-K must be set in the well at least 30 feet below the drawdown water level (when the pump is operating) and no less than 20 feet from the bottom of the well itself. This allows ample room for discarded sand to settle.
For larger submersible pumps and all turbine pumps, please use the PPS Separator.
Selecting the Right Model:
Proper selection of these products involves matching the pump's flow rate with the appropriate separator model.
A Sub-Kool pump enclosure shell is required in greater-than-4-inch diameter wells to ensure the incoming water/sand passes through the SUB-K before entering the inlet slots of the submersible pump.
One standard water filtration method is reverse osmosis. A reverse osmosis system uses two and sometimes three separate filters to remove toxins, chemicals, and sediment from your water. This leaves you with pure water. One filter removes the residue and larger particles of toxins, while the second and third filter removes any remaining chemicals. Sometimes, additional filters are used to polish the water and remove taste and odor.
J&J Pumps, Inc recommends the Pure Water Machine by Vertex for reverse osmosis water filtration. It is convenient and ready to install using the easy-to-understand instructional manual that comes with the unit. You can use this unit with your water-softening system, which hooks up to your refrigerator or ice maker.
The four-stage compact design easily fits under your sink and removes chlorine and sediment. The Pure Water Machine by Vertex is certified to remove or significantly reduce arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium III and VI, radium 226 and 228, turbidity, nitrate, nitrite, selenium, fluoride, copper, lead, cysts, and TDS.
The triple "O" water treatment filter system is designed to remove many of the most common bacteria and contaminants from our well and spring waters.
Microscopic ozone bubbles are injected in every drop of water through ozone water treatment filtration. This makes the oxidation of manganese, iron, and sulfur immediate in our water supply. Soluble ferrous iron is not filterable and therefore requires oxidation to make it filterable. Bacterial iron is also eliminated through oxidation, starving it from its food source of ferrous sulfur. Manganese is filtered in the same way iron is oxidized and filtered.
The odorous hydrogen sulfide also is not filterable through traditional filtration methods. It, too, is quickly converted to elemental sulfur through oxidation which can then be easily filtered. The bacterial form left behind is also eliminated and filtered.
The ozone oxidation process also oxidizes the organic material in the bacterial membranes, weakening the cell wall and causing it to rupture. This kills the cell immediately and eliminates it from your water supply.
The triple "O" water filtration system installs quickly into an atmospherically vented water holding tank. It continually oxidizes, filters, and circulates the water 24 hours a day. This results in purer, chemical-free water for your home.
Are you noticing red stains in your sink, tub, toilet, or shower? Does your tap water appear slightly red or orange when you first turn on the faucet? If so, you might have what is known as clear iron. One of the best ways we have found to eliminate this issue is a self-backwashing multimedia iron filter. We have suggested and installed these units for many of our customers with up to a 99% satisfaction rating. Typically, we install the iron and water softeners together for pure, clean water that feels good.
Our self-backwashing iron filters have a battery backup to remember water quality stats, gallons of water usage, date, and time. The unit will maintain its programming if the power is restored within eight hours. This could save you money not hiring a service professional to come out and reprogram the unit.
This water treatment system has been designed to provide your home with dependable, low-cost, treated water. The system is designed to operate without needing regular maintenance other than adding a regenerant if it requires it. Softening water is a four-step process:
1. The body of a water softener is a tank filled with resin beads. These beads are covered with sodium ions. As hard water passes through, the resin beads act like a magnet, attracting the calcium and magnesium ions (hardness) in exchange for the sodium ions.
2. Eventually, the resin beads become saturated with mineral ions and must be recharged. This process is called regeneration and is conducted by the control valve on the top of the tank. The control valve is the brain of the system.
3. During regeneration, a strong brine solution is flushed through the resin tank, bathing the resin beads in a stream of sodium ions which replace the accumulated calcium and magnesium ions (hardness).
4. The brine solution, which carries the displaced calcium and magnesium ions, is flushed down the drain by fresh water. The regenerated resin beads can be used again and again.
The AS series water softeners and filters offer a complete solution to almost all hard water conditions. The AS series softener can be used alone or combined with filter units to effectively remove unwanted hardness, minerals, unpleasant odors, and tastes. You'll enjoy the benefits of quality softened water, knowing your system perfectly matches your specific water needs.
Effectively used in combination to:
These sediment filters are specifically designed to filter sediment matter from large quantities of water and deposit the matter at the bottom of the filter for easy removal. These filters keep size and costs to a minimum and use centrifugal force to remove the sediment from the water.
The spin-down filters and flush valves are available with either polyester or stainless steel screens and high-performance covers for chemical applications. We recommend using stainless steel filters and screens if you are encountering staining from iron because this requires periodic handling and cleaning of the filter. This filter can be cleaned without tools or having to shut down the pump system. A ball valve on the bottom can be opened, and centrifugal force will clean the filter for you.
Protecting your water from microorganisms such as E. coli, giardia, and cryptosporidium is easier than you might think when you introduce ultra-violet lighting. Trojan has an easy-to-use, safe, and chemical-free way to remove these microorganisms using UV light. Specifically designed and manufactured for residential, commercial, and institutional applications, the Trojan UVMax system uses the knowledge gained from developing leading-edge systems and offering it in a compact form for home use. It has proven itself as a productive means of eliminating microorganisms in tens of thousands of applications worldwide.
There is a growing awareness of undesirable chemical contaminants in the world's water supply. Recent research has shown that various potentially harmful chemicals exist at trace concentrations in streams, lakes, rivers, and groundwater worldwide. In addition, consumers generally associate the poor aesthetic quality of water (its taste and smell) with the presence of harmful compounds. For this reason, drinking water professionals are increasingly emphasizing the treatment of potentially harmful environmental contaminants and taste and odor-causing compounds that impact the aesthetic quality of water.
There is also a growing desire to remove chemical contaminants from wastewater before its discharge to the environment or its reuse for irrigation or augmentation of drinking water supplies. To address these needs, Trojan's UV-oxidation solutions provide a powerful barrier to chemical contaminants in the water while simultaneously disinfecting. Trojan has led the revolution in using UV light and hydrogen peroxide to treat pollutants in water. We were the first to implement large-scale, monochromatic lamp-based UV systems to treat N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), dramatically reducing energy consumption in NDMA treatment. Trojan demonstrates that UV light (either alone or in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide) acts as a barrier to potentially harmful chemical contaminants while simultaneously disinfecting.
A Growing List of Environmental Contaminants:
NDMA taste and odor-causing compounds (MIB and geosmin), pesticides and herbicides 1, 4-dioxane fuel and fuel additives (such as MTBE, hydrazine, and BTEX), volatile organic compounds (such as PCE, TCE, and vinyl chloride), pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), endocrine disruptor chemicals.
We also sell bulbs and replacement parts. Is UV right for you?
